Nathan was exhausted. Inner turmoil aside, his body was exhausted by staying inside so much just so he could keep his eyes on his mother for as long as possible. Nathan had wanted to go to the preserve today but the chilly weather had put him off. Maybe he'd go later when it was warmer or he was feeling less than energetic.
